Neil Dasgupta completed a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005, a M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University in 2006, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University in 2011. Prior to joining UM in 2014, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemistry at University of California, Berkeley. He is the recipient of the Schmidt Science Polymath Award, NSF CAREER Award, the DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA), the AFOSR Young Investigator Award (YIP), the 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Award, the ECS Toyota Young Investigator Fellowship, the AVS Paul Holloway Young Investigator Award, the SME Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award, a Scialog Fellowship in Advanced Energy Storage, the ASME Pi Tau Sigma Gold Medal, and a U. S. Department of Energy EERE Postdoctoral Research Award (SunShot Fellowship).
